10.30-12= Ceramics induction
12-4= Fine Liner Drawing
The ceramics induction I had today was really inspiring. I had no idea that it was such a long process to make an object. Below are a few notes I made-
- Do not mix substances in the ceramics studio as many materials are airborne
- To begin with, buy the material from the finance office and ask a technician to help you get the bag of material (always ask about what you are going to make to ensure you use the correct material for the technique you are using). Mould the clay into the shape you want, whether it is on a wheel or by moulding it by hand. If it is going to take more than a day, place the object in the damp room outside to keep the material malleable. Next. the piece must be fired and then glazed.
- As a second year I should be mixing my own glazes
- More info. on ceramics can be found in my context folder
